Consisting of three practices per week, the Arsenal Training Program focuses on three basic skills including dribbling, shooting, and passing. We mimic drills used by professional clubs such as Chelsea FC Academy, Boca Juniors Academy, F. C. Internazionale Milano, and others.
Dribbling Drills
1) Dribbling warm up before games (Boca Juniors Academy).
2) Individual close control and dribbling skills. The players are challenged to focus on their close control using both feet.
3) Scissor, Maradona, Ronaldo, double touch, and Inside& outside dribbling.
4) Dribbling & volley techniques (Chelsea FC Academy).
5) Opposed turning & dribbling. A physically demanding 1 v 1 practice by Dave Godley, Watford FC Academy.
6) Passing, dribbling & awareness by Stefano D’ottavio
Shooting Drills:
1) Shooting after combination play by Jeff Bookman, Chelsea FC Academy
2) Crossing & finishing after combination play, by Eli Landsem coach- National Norwegian women soccer team
3) Simple shooting drill with players practicing striking the ball. Emphasis is placed on hitting the target and the ability to use both feet (River play Academy).
4) A simple practice which develops running with the ball, shooting with both feet, defending and reactive speed (River play Academy).
5) Quick attacking and good positioning practice by Guus Hiddink.
Defending and Passing Drills:
1) Prevent passes being played forward by Jeff Bookman, Chelsea FC Academy
2) 1v1 defending (Boca Juniors Academy).
3) Defending - prevent turning (Chelsea FC Academy).
4) One on one defending (F.C. Internazionale Milano)
5) Passing using technique of the inside of the foot by Andre Merelle
6) Passing & rotation (Boca Juniors Academy)
7) Improving first touch (Boca Juniors Academy)
